MEET OUR CAMPAIGN IN BABE
1. What is your name?
Perla Gonzalez
2. Where are you from?
I’m “cubanrican”, born in Cuba and living in paradise, Puerto Rico.
3. Can you describe living in the Caribbean?
Nothing compares to the Caribbean, the blues and greens are a constant energy source for me. I need the sun shinning and also the cold rainy days. Each sightseeing could serve as a postcard and with all the beautiful views, you also get the smells: from the salty beach to the fresh tropical rain forest. I love the warmth of the people, the happiness, saying “bendición” to any stranger and getting a “que Dios te bendiga” back, the unbreakable spirit of Latin people.
4. What is the perfect day like?
Waking up early in the morning in El Cocal, Yabucoa. A house by the beach, with big windows that allows the sun to come in. Surrounded by loved ones and my babies (dogs). Enjoying off the sun, good food (I’m always hungry), great books and salty water. Spend the day in my bikini wearing beautiful jewelry and an open kimono robe. Feeling the sea in my hair and the sun on my skin. Breathing, admiring the beauty, absorbing it all, dancing, being me, being happy…
5. Have you been modeling for long?
I’ve modeling for over 10 years, at first it was just to try it, but soon I fell in love with the art of it and started needing it more and more. Two or three years into my “hobby”, I found Element Models agency, located in Puerto Rico and directed by Ann La Place. Since then, I haven’t stopped working and following this passion.
6. Would you reveal something interesting about yourself?
I believe experiences are what make us what we are. I grew up in Cuba where basic things weren’t as accessible as they are in this country. Transportation, food, hygiene products, clothing and shoes were very hard to find. Although necessity was very present I am still fund of my childhood memories. I remember Cubans as being resilient individuals, full of joy and determined to survive and succeed in life. Today, I am a better person thanks to these experiences.
7. What is your favorite piece in the collection and why?
Rings, rings, rings!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole collection, its very me; but rings are my weakness. The rest of the jewelry I can feel it and I can admire it in front of a mirror. But with rings, I look down to my hands and see them all day long reminding me of how pretty they make me feel.
8. Can you tell us your interpretation of the ISA NOY Rocks?
Just like the rocks we find around: strong, beautiful, natural. Some of them big, some small, all unique… The integration of two arts: nature and jewelry making. The rocks in this collection are clean & simple, yet sophisticated and easy to wear. Is taking an amulet, a piece of nature that keeps you grounded and carrying it all day with you.
9. How do you think you represent being the face of the brand?
The brand is a balance of beauty, class, natural elements and the constant connection between those elements and the person who wears it. Those elements also represent the woman I am: child of Earth, island girl, highly sensitive human and good doer. Lover of nature, always amazed by the beauty in its details, even in its imperfections. In constant search of a deeper connection with myself and the energy in the things and people that surrounds me.
10. In your opinion what does it take to be an IN Babe?
An ISA NOY babe should be anything she wants to be. Beautiful in her own way, strong headed and strong hearted, free to fly and free to stay. A lover of nature and a lover of beauty, lover of complex minds and deep souls. A little sane and a whole lot crazy (the good kind of crazy).
